Stop Waiting for Free Time — It’s Not Coming

How I turned a frustrating, wasted morning into a better money strategy

Today didn’t go as planned.

An immigration hearing I had scheduled—
was cancelled the same day.

No notice.

I sat there and waited for an hour…
for nothing.

And while that might seem small—
it’s not.

Because I learned a long time ago:

Time is valuable.
And once it’s gone, it’s gone.

It Wasn’t Just the Hour

It wasn’t just the hour I spent waiting.

I had already prepped for the hearing.
Reviewed the file.
Spent time getting ready.

So when it didn’t happen—
that wasn’t just an hour lost.

It was multiple hours.

And more than that…

It disrupted my entire morning.

And That’s What Made It Frustrating

Because mornings matter.

That’s my most productive time.

That’s when I do the work that actually makes money.

But instead, my morning was spent on things that—

didn’t produce income that day.

And that’s where the frustration came in.

Because now it’s not just about time.

It’s about missed opportunity.

And If I’m Honest… It Can Snowball

Sometimes when I get frustrated…

I waste even more time.

Not intentionally.

But mentally.

Trying to regroup.
Thinking about what should have happened.
Feeling thrown off.

And before I know it—

Even more of the day is gone.

But This Is Where the Shift Happened

After sitting in that frustration for a minute…

I had to reset.

Because the reality is—

Things like this happen.

They’re outside of my control.

So the real question became:

What do I do now?

The Pivot That Changed the Day

Instead of trying to force the day back on track…

I shifted.

Not just to another task—

but to another way of thinking.

I went back to something I had been thinking about for a while—

dividends.

Not in a detailed, technical way.

But in a simple, powerful way:

Money that works… whether I’m working or not.

And in that moment, I started thinking about how to implement a change in my dividend strategy that will generate even more income monthly.

And that realization changed everything.

This Is Where Productivity and Money Connect

This article isn’t about breaking down a full dividend strategy.

It’s about something bigger:

Creating income that isn’t tied to every hour of your time.

Because earlier that day—

My time was gone.

Wasted.
Out of my control.

But income that isn’t tied directly to time?

That still works.

Regardless.

And that shift in thinking—

changed my mood almost immediately.

From Frustration to Focus

Once I thought about that…

I stopped focusing on what I lost.

And started focusing on what I could still build.

That led me back into action—

Just in a different direction.

Instead of trying to “recover” the day…

I focused on other activities that still move money forward.

And that’s what matters.

This Is the Part Most People Miss

Most people focus on:

“How do I get my time back?”

But the better question is:

“How do I make money in a way that doesn’t depend on perfect days?”

Because perfect days don’t exist.

Schedules change.
Things fall through.
Time gets wasted.

But if your income depends on everything going right—

You’ll always feel behind.

What I Took From This

Even though I didn’t make money in the way I planned to that morning…

I walked away with something more valuable:

A stronger focus on building income
that works regardless of time

And that changes everything.

Because now the goal isn’t just:

Working more

It’s:

Building income that keeps working

How I Actually Structure My Days

Most days, I’m intentional from the start.

I already know what kind of day I’m having.

I sit down with a plan.
I’ve got my timer ready.
I know what I’m focusing on.

That’s how I lock in.

· Planner: https://amzn.to/47AgJmm

But days like this remind me of something important—

Even the best plan can get disrupted.

And when it does…

You don’t need a perfect reset.

You need the ability to pivot.

Final Thought

Free time isn’t coming.

Perfect days aren’t coming either.

There will always be interruptions.
Delays.
Things that don’t go as planned.

But that doesn’t mean the day is lost.

Sometimes the biggest shift isn’t in getting more done—

It’s in building something
that keeps working…

Even when your day doesn’t.

Because even a frustrating, wasted morning…

can turn into something that moves you forward—

If you let it.

Time Management That Pays: Fall Productivity Tools to Help You Work Less and Earn More

(Affiliate Disclosure: This article contains affiliate links. I may earn a commission if you purchase products using my links, at no additional cost to you. Thank you for supporting content that helps busy entrepreneurs grow.) Time management has always been a challenge for me, and for years, I struggled to balance everything. I prayed about it and wholeheartedly believe that God has given me time management tips that have transformed how I approach my day. Sometimes, the hardest part is just getting started. But once I get into a flow—especially with writing—everything seems to click into place. I believe that everything starts with mindset. I now evaluate my mindset constantly when it comes to time. Instead of saying, “How am I going to get this done?” I remind myself, "I can do all things through God who strengthens me." My mindset has shifted from scarcity to abundance, and I now believe I have plenty of time. In fact, I create time. With that mindset, I’ve adopte...
Faith, Manifestation & Business: It’s More Than Strategy and Hustle To me, building a business isn’t just about strategy and hustle — I rely on God. I stay in faith when I write, when I make decisions, and when I plan what’s next. I’ve seen too much to think it’s just me. I’ve had open doors I couldn’t have forced open. I’ve received provision I couldn’t have predicted. I’ve experienced favor that no formula could have created. Yes — I use strategy. I study. I plan. I invest. I show up. But that’s not my foundation. My foundation is faith . It’s not that I get it right every time. I don’t. But I learn from every moment — and I let those lessons make me wiser, not bitter. I challenge myself with bigger visions because I want to keep growing. Not just in business — but in trust . I want to believe God for more, stretch into new territory, and keep proving to myself that faith works. I’ve seen harvest. Some of it looked like opportunities. Some of it looked like pe...
